The new Cortina Ghia has quality and prestige throughout, presenting a unique level of appointment unequalled in a car of this size. This is a car for the medium car buyer who's looking for the ultimate in prestige and luxury. The Ghia is available as a four door saloon or estate car, and it fitted with the twin venturi 2 litre engine to give a top speed in excess of 100moh.
Based on the already luxurious GL model, the new Ghia has a comprehensive list of additional equipment. The exterior is distinguished by a unique extra-wide bodyside moulding with protective insert. Vinyl roof, all round tinted glass, bright wheel rim embellishers and overriders add to the prestige image- as does the remote control drivers door mirror.

Identifying Ghia crests are fitted to each front wing, and there is Ghia script on the rear panel. The central door pillar is trimmed in black vinyl, and the saloon model has bright exhaust pipe trim.
Inside, superb quality Ghia seating is trimmed in exclusive Crushed Velour fabric with Verona fabric inserts. The front seats have adjustable head restraints, trimmed in matching Crushed Velour fabric; and the seat backs are trimmed in vinyl with rear magazine pockets and passenger assist straps. Colour keyed deep shag pile carpeting continues up the lower section of each door, complementing the Crushed Velour door trims, including luxury armrests and map pockets. Wood veneered door cappings and full width wood veneered facia trim add distinction to this beautiful car.

The instrumentation includes a tachometer and trip recorder. There's a new 4 spoke soft feel steering wheel, and intermittent wipe is a standard feature. Naturally a top quality 5 push button MW/LW radio is standard equipment.. Beneath it, a black centre console unit includes a precise quartz clock. There's a black gearshift gaiter, and also a black front centre armrest, incorporating storage pocket and handbrake gaiter. An extra interior light is fitted, above the rear seats, and courtesy light switches are wired to all doors.
Inside the boot there's a fitted black carpet and a boot light is of course also specified. In the Ghia Estate Car, the load compartment has a removable deep pile carpet in addition to the hard wearing rubber load space mat. Both saloon and estate have two tone horns.

Gas shock absorbers are fitted to give a superbly controlled ride in all conditions, and wide 185-70 SR x 13 low profile radial tyres are specified for excellent road holding.
Finally in keeping with the restrained air of quiet elegance inside the new Cortina Ghia, extra quantities of sound insulation materials are added in the rear compartment and boot areas to ensure that driver and passengers are fully insulated from the stress of road noise.
