SPECIAL CUSTOMISED CORTINA
Inspired by the Ford Torino featured in the TV
series "Starsky and Hutch", a group of London custom car enthusiasts built
this very special Cortina which forms the centre-piece of the Ford dealers'
stand at Motorfair. It demonstrates how the appeal of Britain's best selling
model can be extended way beyond the family car market where it has its
firmly planted roots. |

NEW FORD CORTINA
Rear window area has been increased by almost
40 per cent to improve vision through the rear quarters. New air extractors
on the pillars improve the efficiency of the heating and ventilation system,
which can change the air over 3 times a minute at 70mph.

NEW FORD CORTINA
Larger windows, a lower waistline and revised
suspension are the key improvements for the new Cortina, which is available
in 17 versions with a choice of four engines. Variable rate rear springs and
modified radius arms give a smoother, quieter ride and at the front steering
effort has been reduced by introducing negative camber to the front wheels. |

size away, other than a discreet 2.3 badge on the boot lid. This is the
S-version with matt black treatment of trim and additional halogen

Totally rebodied for 1977, the Cortina Estate
car is a very popular version of Ford's top-selling range. It is available
with a choice of engines and includes amongst its standard equipment,
tailgate wash/wipe, cloth trim, reclining front seats and halogen headlamps.
