MK5 Cortina GL

A number of particularly important features worth a special note are:

Wide body side protection mouldings that follow the lower styling line of the new Cortina, match the wrap  around front and rear bumpers and with them, provide all round body protection from minor knocks.

Sports road wheels (5.5ins x 13 ins) and bright wheel rim embellishers identify the new Cortina GL at a glance.

New see through head restraints provide improved in car safety.

A remote control version of the new spring back door mounted mirror offers a rear view that's adjustable without opening the window.

Deeply sumptuous 'Windsor' Fabric trim now covers the seats, and there's a convenient fold away rear seat centre arm rest that adds a touch of elegance.

The door trim panels are tastefully finished and incorporate handy map sized pockets that are easy to reach, even when wearing a seat belt.

A precision made quartz analogue clock is neatly integrated into the facia design which also features a handy trip recorder and has an attractive 'wood' effect binnacle surround.

A modular centre console similar to the unit featured in the Cortina L, but extended to provide a handy storage pocket and a coin rack - in addition to the ashtray and radio locations, it fits neatly between the facia and the floor mounted gear shift.

Finally the facia glove box is both lockable and illuminated.
