FORD CORTINA GHIA
At the top of the best-selling Cortina range the Ghia version's standard specification now includes items previously only available as options costing more than £230, although the car's retail price remains unchanged. The car's already comprehensive list of standard features now includes a tilting and sliding sun-roof, power-operated radio aerial, locking petrol cap, remote-control passenger door mirror, sports gear-lever knob and much improved seat trim.

FORD CORTINA L
The best-selling Cortina L model now has much improved specification and costs less, with a reduction in total price of £150. New standard features include head restraints, a passenger door mirror, trip mileage recorder, quartz clock, rear centre arm rest and seat trim formerly standard only on the more expensive GL version, together with other detail improvements.

KEY TO IMPROVEMENTS

1. Viscous-coupled thermostatic fan on all engines for improved economy and reduced noise
2. New variable-venturi carburettor for 1300 and 1600cc engines (except 92.5 P version)
3.Improved heating and ventilation with centre fresh-air vents and side-window demisting
4. New open-framed head restraints
5. Increased glass area allowing better vision all round
6. New wrap-round tail lamp clusters with integral fog lamps on saloons.
7. Tough plastic bumper end-caps front and rear.
8. New corrosion protection system integrated with multi-stage paint process.
9. New more comfortable seats with sprung platform construction, infinitely-variable backrest adjustment and seat-mounted belt stalks.
10. Revised spring and damper settings all-round and 'S' pack option in lieu of 'S' derivative.
11. New wrap-round front indicators for improved safety.
12. Deeper front spoiler for increased stability.
